We're looking for a proactive and dedicated Technician (Catering) to join our supportive Catering team at North Kent Colleges Group, helping to create a safe, efficient and industry-focused learning environment.

In this hands-on role, you'll provide technical and operational support across our Catering provision, helping lecturers prepare for practical sessions and ensuring our training kitchens and The View Restaurant are well stocked, organised and compliant with food safety and health and safety requirements.

You'll manage food, equipment and resources, support stock control and deliveries, assist with practical classes, and help maintain high standards of cleanliness, HACCP and food safety.

You'll also liaise with contractors, support equipment maintenance and contribute to health and safety inspections and asset management.

The successful candidate will have a minimum Level 2 Hospitality qualification and Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, with experience in a similar customer-focused environment.

You'll have good knowledge of stock control and ordering systems, strong organisational and supervisory skills, and excellent communication and IT skills.

Experience within an education environment would be advantageous.

You'll be proactive, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work independently while being a supportive team player.

The Role

  • Where you'll work: This role is based at our Tonbridge campus.
  • Your hours: 12 hours per week, 40 weeks per annum, with opportunities to increase your hours in future.
  • Your pay: £6,326.64 pro rata per annum + £1,180.58 holiday pay.
