The Equine Unit at Hadlow boasts extensive facilities, including two indoor arenas, a large outdoor arena, and stabling for 64 horses. Teaching resources encompass a horse walker, mechanical horse, anatomy models, and equipment for various disciplines, complemented by a wide range of scientific and practical teaching tools. We regularly invite guest speakers and industry experts such as vets, nutritionists, emergency services, and the British Groom\’s Association to enhance our delivery and learner experience.
As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to exercise College horses or bring your own horse on livery or loan. You will join a diverse team of Equine Lecturers, Riding Instructors, and Equine Grooms to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment at various qualification levels. Your responsibilities include preparing, teaching, and assessing learners, providing support and guidance as they progress. You will also facilitate study tours, such as visits to Badminton Horse Trials, Lingfield Racecourse, the New Forest, and veterinary centers, to enrich the student experience.
You will work closely with industry professionals to enhance the curriculum and improve employability for our learners. Sharing your knowledge and industry experience, you will inspire achievement and support learners\’ success in the equine industry. The ideal candidate will possess specialist knowledge in the curriculum area, supported by relevant professional experience and a formal qualification. You should be a team player, an excellent communicator, and proactive in managing deadlines while maintaining high standards of delivery.
This role is based at our Hadlow campus. We welcome applicants passionate about working with horses and young people, whether you are currently in education or industry seeking a career change. This is a full-time, fixed-term position covering maternity leave.
