Job Description
We're looking for a skilled and dependable Estates Technician to help keep our Tonbridge campus running smoothly and safely. If you take pride in fixing problems, staying ahead of maintenance needs and being part of a hands-on, supportive team — we want to hear from you!
What you’ll do:
- Carry out a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks across College buildings.
- Handle emergency repairs from plumbing and lighting to locks and basic furniture fixes.
- Ensure plant, machinery, and essential services are well maintained and fully operational.
- Maintain and update records related to risk assessments, CoSHH, emergency lighting, fire controls, and chemical safety.
- Use our Estates Helpdesk system to log work and keep things running efficiently.

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at North Kent College’s Tonbridge campus.
Your hours: 42.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum, to be worked on a shift rota basis (earlies and lates) covering the hours of 6am – 7pm Monday to Friday. You will also be required to participate in an emergency out of hours on-call rota, which will require you to be on-call an average of one week in four.
Your pay: £29,492.70 per annum, plus an additional £100 for each week spent on-call for out of hours emergencies.
