The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Part time receptionist required for a GP practice in North Kensington, W10 for 22 hours per week. Excellent communication skills and telephone manner is essential. Ability to work with other members of the team and computer literacy is critical. Previous general practice experience is preferred although we are willing to consider the right candidate outside of this scope.

Main duties of the job

  • To be the focal point of the surgery and to act as a liaison between patients, clinicians and other members of your practice team.
  • Ensuring that the scanning of patients correspondence is kept up to date at all times.
  • You are expected to be courteous to patients, particularly people with disabilities, elderly and people from the ethnic minority groups.
  • You must have experience working as a medical receptionist and preferably with SystmOne software or similar.

About us

You will join a well-established professional team of General Practitioners, Practice Nurse, FY2s, Pharmacist, HCAs and Administration/Reception staff. We are an extremely friendly and flexible practice, with a current patient population of 5000 patients. We are part of Westhill PCN and we have been rated Good by CQC. We are very good QOF achievers and we strive on our patient care at all times.

Job responsibilities

  • Answer the telephone dealing with or redirecting enquiries.
  • Booking new and follow up appointments.
  • Take messages for the doctors, nurse and other clinicians.
  • Requesting repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Register new patients following practice policy.
  • Open mail and distribute as appropriate.
  • File medical records and scan hospital reports and letters.
  • Offer all services to patients including Community Pharmacy Consultation Service (CPCS), extended hours hub and walk in centres as appropriate.
  • Complete tasks sent by the doctors, nurses and other clinicians.
  • Sending off patients records to the PCSE.
  • Marking patient records as arrived on SystmOne.
  • Each evening leave the reception area tidy and ready for incoming colleagues.
  • Leave information regarding unsolved or urgent problems in the message book.
  • Opening and locking up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols.
