The Membership & Marketing Executive will play a key role in growing, supporting and retaining Chamber membership, while also developing and delivering marketing and brand activity for North Highland Chamber of Commerce and its associated brands, including Venture North and Live North. The post holder will work within a dynamic team, engaging directly with businesses, partners, and stakeholders across rural and remote communities, and ensuring that Chamber services, events and campaigns are effectively promoted and delivered.

Key Role Duties and Responsibilities- Membership Development & Engagement
- Proactively support the recruitment, retention and engagement of Chamber members, with a focus on micro‑businesses and rural enterprises.
- Act as a key point of contact for members, handling enquiries and building long‑term relationships.
- Support the delivery of membership communications, renewals and onboarding.
- Represent the Chamber at events, meetings and outreach activity across the North Highlands.
- Marketing, Communications & Brand
- Plan and deliver integrated marketing activity to promote Chamber services, events and initiatives.
- Support and develop the brands Venture North and Live North, ensuring consistent messaging and strong visibility.
- Create engaging written and digital content for websites, newsletters, email campaigns and social media.
- Manage and maintain online platforms, including social media channels, CRM systems, Mailchimp, Eventbrite and content management systems.
- Monitor engagement and support reporting on marketing activity.
- Events & Campaign Support
- Support the planning, promotion and delivery of events, workshops and campaigns.
- Work with partners and external stakeholders to maximise reach and impact.
- Ensure marketing activity is aligned to business support priorities and member needs.
- Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate records using CRM and business systems.
- Use Microsoft Office packages effectively to manage communications, data and reporting.
- Contribute to internal planning, reporting and continuous improvement.
- General Responsibilities
- Work independently with minimal supervision, managing competing priorities effectively.
- Travel across Caithness, Sutherland and wider Highlands as required.
- Uphold the values, reputation and professionalism of North Highland Chamber of Commerce.
- Proven experience in marketing and/or sales, ideally within a membership‑based or business support organisation.
- Experience of working with rural communities and micro‑businesses.
- Experience using digital and social platforms, including social media, CRM systems, Mailchimp, Eventbrite and content management systems.
- Experience using business support systems and Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating motivation and effective use of own initiative.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to independently prioritise workloads.
- Dynamic and flexible approach, with a willingness to respond to conflicting project demands.
- Excellent oral communication skills, with confidence in building professional relationships with external partners.
