We are looking for a senior marketing assistant to join our small, but dynamic marketing and communications team to ensure the marketing and student recruitment activity for the Group is creative, impactful and effective.
What can you bring to the role?
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for the role, with a hands-on approach. We want someone with experience (either through completion of a degree in Marketing or with previous work experience within a Marketing and Communications role), who is able to bring ideas and a fresh perspective to the team whilst looking for a challenge and being keen to learn and develop in the role. This is a 360 marketing role, involving all aspects of Marketing. You will be expected to engage in a variety of campaigns, projects and tasks as part of the team to support our recruitment targets. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to help them realise their potential through education and training.
JOB PURPOSE
You will be supporting a number of functions in the marketing team. We work in a collaborative way to ensure that we get the work done, when needed and with the desired impact. In this senior role you will take on a larger responsibility supporting the function of the team, helping to make sure our marketing and communications activity is targeted, relevant and engaging. Creativity and enthusiasm are key to this role, combined with a good sense of humour and strong work ethic.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Marketing and Communications team through implementation of marketing activities associated with the marketing strategy.
- Allocation, distribution and implementation of agreed budget across digital campaigns.
- Responsible for allocating work duties to new marketing position.
- Responsibility for external communications and ensuring suitable tone in all customer facing communications.
- Undertake data analysis to shape future campaigns across all areas, including web traffic, and other relevant engagement.
- Campaign management - working with the team to create engaging and innovative campaigns throughout the year for a range of audiences.
- Support the evaluation of marketing activity and provide appropriate data specific to this.
- CRM / Email marketing to a range of customers and target audiences.
- Ensure website content is relevant and updated, including the collation of information for this at regular intervals.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Effective organisation skills are a must, with a proven ability to multi-task as you will be working across the HLG brands.
- It’s all about the team here. We are a small, but effective, marketing and communications team and we support each other through every challenge and success! The successful candidate needs to be a team player.
- Attitude and approach to work. The work in this team will be varied and we are looking for someone who has a solid work ethic and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
- Marketing experience, either from work or degree-level qualification would be ideal.
- Excellent IT Skills, including Microsoft Office and Teams, and some knowledge of website management would be desirable.
- Understanding the audience. You will be working with a range of audiences in this role so utilising data and contacts to understand your audience is key.
- Communication skills are critical to this role. We need you to be confident in your communication with internal and external customers, with customer service at the heart of everything you do.
- Be creative! We want to see your vision, ideas and enthusiasm for the role, and we encourage every member of the team to play a part in our projects.
- Experience of marketing campaigns or marketing projects is essential. We are looking for someone who can bring their experiences to the role, this might be from previous roles, or your education.
- Experience of internal and external event management is desirable, here we are looking for your ability to organise and collate different groups to attend or contribute to a range of different college events.
