About the Role:
Hart Learning & Development is seeking a passionate and dynamic Employability Tutor to join our team. If you’re an inspiring educator who brings energy, creativity, and commitment to your teaching, we want to hear from you. You’ll be delivering short, impactful courses to unemployed residents across Herts, Beds, and Bucks, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to re-enter the workforce. This role involves both the delivery and assessment of a range of Level 1 programmes and qualifications, with a particular focus on digital skills and supporting learners facing barriers to employment. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver consistently high-quality teaching sessions using a variety of learning strategies and technologies.
- Assess learners’ needs and create tailored plans and targets to support individual progress.
- Support learners in achieving outcomes such as employment, apprenticeships, qualifications, and other progression routes.
- Provide academic and pastoral support, raising learners’ aspirations and helping them reach their full potential.
- Manage data for learners including initial assessment, enrolment, and daily registration and ensure all requests for ALS & support needs are processed efficiently.
- Set and monitor individual learner targets, ensuring they are challenged and supported throughout their journey.
- Deliver programmes flexibly across different locations and formats.
- Work with the Head of Department and Lead IQA to continually strive for excellence and improve standards.
- Contribution to standardisation, team meetings and the Performance Board cycle.
- Conduct assessments, manage portfolios, and liaise with internal/external verifiers and awarding bodies.
General duties
- To contribute to the effective management and promotion of equality and diversity.
- To work in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, ensuring the College is a safe environment for staff, students and visitors.
- To promote with staff and students the importance of safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults they are responsible for and come into contact with.
- To work at all times in accordance with North Hertfordshire College’s policies and procedures.
- To carry out such duties as may be required from time to time by the college that are appropriate to the grade of the post.
