North Gate is supporting a new forensic services consultancy with a developing presence in the technical dispute and expert witness market. It is focused on providing specialist design related dispute resolution support to solicitors and construction stakeholders. The business currently employs a team of Architectural, Structural and MEP experts and advisors. They seek an additional expert in Façade engineering to complement their team.
We’re looking for a seasoned Façade engineering leader ready to pivot into expert witness and litigation support work, someone with deep technical expertise, a sharp analytical mindset, and a real interest in construction law and developing their capabilities as an expert witness.

The Requirement
- This opportunity is suitable for a Senior level Facades engineer with existing expertise in the area of Dispute Resolution, and ideally one who has already stood as an Expert Witness in court.
- The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the design and construction of a wide range of building types.
- Boast good technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and will have experienced contentious disputes involving Facade design.
- Chartered Degree qualified ideally with additional qualifications.
- At least 15 years post qualification experience as a Lead Façade Engineer.
- Experience of acting as the named Expert Witness or working towards this.
- Experienced in forensic investigation supporting Experts.
- Experience in the technical aspects of facade design, production info and specifications.
- Experience with construction contracts, NEC, JCT, FIDIC etc.
- Experience on site overseeing design management and value engineering.
- Very good written and verbal English language skills.
- Analytical approach to problems, an enquiring mind.
- Knowledge of the legal process and construction law.
