It specifically provides Architectural, Structural, Civil, Geotechnical, Project Management, Mechanical and Electrical Expert Witness services in respect to disputed projects where design or engineering is a factor.
This successful business needs to strengthen strategically at Director level and has a specific opportunity for someone to join as a Structural Engineering Expert Witness. The opportunity is suitable for someone who is either already acting as an Expert Witness in engineering.
Or a senior level Structural (Building or Civil) engineer with the experience, qualifications, management expertise and gravitas to be successfully developed into an Expert Witness.
ResponsibilitiesOperational Management and leadership of a small team of forensic engineers.
Producing Expert Witness reports in relation to structural engineering mattersProviding testimony and strategic advice in relation to disputed projectsContributing to the strategy of the Technical Expert Witness and Dispute Resolution business.
Working closely with existing Structural Experts and a diverse team of other experts.
Business Development and Marketing to new and existing clients.
Attending and participating in seminars on construction lawOverseeing the delivery of niche structural engineering projects.
RequirementsDegree qualified in structural (building or civil) engineering, ideally chartered with additional legal qualifications or a willingness to gain these may be beneficial.
At least part of your experience is likely to have been spent a senior management level within a respected engineering consultancy.
Ability to demonstrate experience across a wide range of project types in both construction type (steel, concrete, timber, glass, GRG, GRP, fabric etc) and project location. An established, clean reputation with excellent technical knowledge, analytical and investigative skills. Excellent report writing skills and use of English languageA good relationship builder, who is confident handling important work for high profile clients.
Somebody friendly, affable, diplomatic and confident who enjoys team work.
Someone who has had exposure or acted as an Expert Witness or been cross-examined or understands the court process would be beneficial but not essential if the relevant motivation, technical aptitude, industry and management experience is present.
