About Us
The North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP) is a council-run organisation which brings together all street-based parking services in North Essex. Our aim is to administer the parking rules to a fair, proportionate and consistent standard in order to provide a service in a reasonable and responsible way. The service is a partnership between Essex County Council and six city/district/borough councils:
- Colchester City Council - who are the lead authority for the partnership
- Braintree District Council
- Tendring District Council
- Epping Forest District Council
- Harlow Council
- Uttlesford District Council
Day to Day Role
The role of a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) is primarily to patrol restricted parking areas, car parks and on-street parking bays, giving advice to the public and issuing penalty charge notices (PCN) where appropriate. Other responsibilities include:
- Protecting the safety and interests of all road users
- Patrolling parking restrictions on foot and by use of our fleet vehicles
- Resolving face-to-face customer enquiries
- Reporting issues with the road network to the appropriate authority
About you
We provide the necessary training and a nationally recognised parking enforcement qualification, so prior experience is not essential, though we are looking for applicants who have:
- A positive, polite and professional attitude
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
- Resilience
Applicants must also have:
- A full manual UK driving licence
- Ability to walk long distances each day in all weather conditions.
