We're investing in a modern Microsoft Fabric data platform and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help shape, build and lead the next generation of data and analytics services across the College.
This is a rare opportunity to join at the start of an exciting transformation programme. Working within our IT & Digital Services Team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a trusted, scalable and governed data platform that supports reporting, analytics and data-driven decision making across the organisation.
You will be our lead technical specialist for Microsoft Fabric, helping to deliver a single source of truth for organisational data whilst enabling powerful self-service analytics through Power BI.

1. Design, develop, and maintain robust data integration pipelines using Microsoft Fabric services, including Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, and notebooks.
2. Architect, implement, and administer scalable data storage solutions leveraging Fabric Lakehouse and Data Warehouse capabilities.
3. Develop, optimise, and automate ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and integrate data from a wide range of internal and external data sources.
4. Create and maintain curated, business-ready datasets that support operational reporting, analytics, and self-service data consumption.
5. Design and implement efficient data models and semantic layers to enable reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics through Power BI.
6. Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and governance by implementing validation, monitoring, and compliance controls across the data platform.
7. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines, workloads, and platform performance to ensure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
