We have an exciting role on offer within our Community Learning service as a Community Learning Tutor (ESOL and Employability).

About Us

This post is a key function within Middlesbrough Community Learning, Middlesbrough Council’s Adult learning and employability service. The post will involve teaching ESOL, up to Level 2, within council buildings, community venues and remotely via Teams Classroom. However, our tutors also deliver bespoke employability training and embed employability, English, Maths, ICT, Safeguarding and Prevent into delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative, creative, engaging and meaningful education and training.
  • Prepare learners for the world of work and link education to local opportunities.
  • Ensure the safety of all learners in physical and virtual classrooms.
  • Embed the requirements of the Education inspection framework into teaching practice.
  • Be highly organised and complete paperwork and returns on-time.
  • Demonstrate strong ICT, teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Work flexibly to support all service areas to meet strategic priorities.

Please note, this is a part time vacancy, working 30 hours per week.
