Two Exciting Opportunities to Shape the Future of the North East

Are you ready to make a real impact and support the ambition to deliver more social, affordable, sustainable and high-quality homes? We’re looking for two dynamic Project Managers to join North East Combined Authority and work directly with our Local Authorities to drive forward housing schemes and develop housing pipelines. This is your chance to develop projects, manage project pipelines and implement investment programmes that matter—unlocking economic growth, accelerating housing delivery, and tackling complex land remediation challenges. You’ll be at the heart of shaping strategic investment priorities that will define the future of our region.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build strong partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, developers, and stakeholders to turn plans into reality.
  • Lead, manage and develop housing pipelines to unlock housing schemes and delivery.
  • Support a solutions driven approach to drive forward housing schemes that make a tangible difference and support place-based regeneration.
  • Shape proposals, investment and infrastructure requirements to attract funding, investment and drive growth.
  • Ensure robust governance and accountability across a diverse and fast-paced project portfolio.

What We’re Looking For:

  • One role will be seconded for two years to Durham County Council to develop their housing pipeline.
  • One role will be seconded for two years to South Tyneside Council to develop their housing pipeline.
  • Both roles demand strong project development, management and analytical skills to assess constraints, develop solutions and drive forward schemes within the housing pipeline towards delivery.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a team shaping the future of housing and regeneration in the North East.
  • Work on projects that create thriving communities through place-based and housing-led regeneration – delivering our core mission of a North East we are Proud to Call Home.
  • Enjoy a supportive, inclusive workplace that values diversity and innovation. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly encourage candidates who are underrepresented in senior roles, including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.

If you are motivated, collaborative and ready to help shape the region’s future, we want to hear from you.
