What’s the role all about?
This role spans Treasury and Finance, supporting the effective management of the Authority’s cashflow and financial position. You will work within established governance frameworks to help ensure funds are in the right place, at the right time, to meet the Council’s obligations, while also supporting investment activity and income generation.
Daily Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate daily cashflow forecasts to ensure liquidity needs are consistently met.
- Supporting investment decisions.
- Monitoring budgets.
- Ensuring reporting remains consistent and accurate.
- Assisting with financial closedown processes and account reconciliations.
- Updating and interrogating financial and treasury systems.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure payments, deadlines and reporting requirements are achieved while managing competing priorities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Self‑motivated and detail oriented.
- Strong attention to detail, methodical approach, risk awareness (liquidity and counterparty considerations).
- Confidence in communicating with colleagues, professional communication, ability to influence others and build relationships.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, deliver high‑quality work in line with professional standards.
