We are looking for two full‑time, permanent leaders:
- Strategic Lead for Highway Maintenance & Operations
This role goes beyond managing roads; it involves shaping the backbone of our borough. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team covering street lighting, drainage, structures, flood risk and more, championing safety, innovation and value for money.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of engineers and technical experts to deliver core highway services.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners to unlock funding and drive innovation.
- Overseeing complex maintenance programmes and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Championing a place‑based approach that reflects the needs and aspirations of our communities.
- Strategic Lead for Traffic and Transport
This senior role is central to how people live, work and move. The holder will oversee traffic management, road safety, street works and sustainable transport initiatives, aligning them with local and regional priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of transport professionals to deliver high‑impact services and strategies.
- Developing and implementing innovative transport solutions that support net zero goals.
