Job Description

The Education Welfare Support Officer (IAG) provides guidance and support to schools and families on school attendance and achieving the best outcomes for young people. You will work with schools, families and professionals to provide information, advice and guidance on attendance based on government guidance; discuss strategies to re-integrate a child into education with parents; and collaborate with colleagues in SEND, Children’s Social Care and other agencies. The role may include licensing responsibilities for Child Entertainment, Child Employment or Chaperones.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information, advice and guidance on school attendance and outcomes for young people and families.
  • Liaise with schools around attendance based on government guidance and discuss strategies to reintegrate a child into education.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team including SEND, Children’s Social Care and external support agencies.
  • Administer or support licensing for Child Entertainment, Child Employment or Chaperones where required.
  • Contribute to quality service delivery and build effective working relationships with stakeholders.

Working Arrangements

This role is a blended working role; duties may require a mix of home and office working in line with service needs.
