Location: North East Lincolnshire Council

Salary: £28,142 annually

Contract: 16‑24 hours per week, part‑time, rolling two‑week shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to children with SEND in a variety of settings including community activities, family homes, and the council’s community-based services.
  • Encourage independence, develop communication skills and promote wellbeing for children and young people.
  • Deliver support on shifts that may include weekend and unsocial hours as part of the rota.
  • Prepare written reports and ensure clear communication with children, families, colleagues and partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to health and safety, safeguarding and care quality standards.

Shift Patterns

  • Morning shifts (weekdays only): 6:30 am – 8:30 am
  • Afternoon shifts (weekdays only): 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm
  • Weekend shifts: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays (every‑other week basis)
  • During school holidays shift times move to daytime hours: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm for afternoon weekday shifts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Good written report‑writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive own vehicle or use council fleet vehicles.
  • Willingness to work flexible and unsocial hours including weekends.
  • Patience, creativity, resilience and an adaptive approach to working with young people.

Requirements

  • Valid DBS check and registration on the DBS Update Service.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to provide references covering the last three years.
  • Availability to work the outlined shift pattern and weekend work.
