Join North East Lincolnshire Council as an Assistant Director (Consultant in Public Health) where you will lead a variety of programmes and services. This is an exciting time for North East Lincolnshire as we embark on tackling health inequality through our Marmot Place commitment. This role will be responsible for leading the Marmot Place agenda, working in partnership with the UCL Institute of Health Equity.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the Marmot Place agenda and collaborate with partners including the UCL Institute of Health Equity.
  • Analyse complex data, shape evidence-based strategies, and lead programmes to improve health and reduce inequalities across North East Lincolnshire.
  • Advise elected members, guide the development of care pathways, present insights to boards, and support the wider public health system to deliver better outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships across health, social care, and community partners; influence priorities and commissioning decisions.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the Council's vision and priorities for residents and continue development of a modern public health offer to enable the council's ambitions.
Who we are looking for

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our dedicated Public Health team. The post holder will report directly to the Director of Public Health and, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, provide public health leadership and advocacy across North East Lincolnshire. You will be able to articulate complicated issues clearly to engage and encourage participation to support the delivery of emerging programmes. You will lead and inspire the team and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the local system. Candidates should deliver enabling, progressive and sustainable approaches underpinning the Council's approach to continuous improvement, transformation and improving outcomes for residents.
