Location: North East Lincolnshire Council

Salary & Benefits: Up to £49,282 (depending on experience) with Essential Car User Allowance and Overnight Allowance. Generous leave entitlement (including bank holidays), local government pension, and access to the RewardNEL platform (salary sacrifice schemes, discounts, wellbeing support).

Hours: 37 hours per week, full‑time, permanent. Shift pattern includes daytime duties in the Integrated Front Door (IFD) and out‑of‑hours work during evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a structured three‑week rolling rota.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the response to serious safeguarding concerns and make timely decisions to protect children and young people at risk.
  • Carry out urgent statutory interventions under the Children Act 1989, including Section 47 enquiries, home visits and strategy discussions.
  • Assess risk, implement safeguarding measures and ensure immediate safety in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Use professional judgement to manage crisis situations effectively and proportionately.
  • Operate a varied shift pattern, combining daytime duties in the Integrated Front Door with out‑of‑hours work during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Deliver high‑quality services to vulnerable children, young people and their families/carers in line with statutory legislation, council procedures and departmental policies.
