Nexus is looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager as part of its investment in the in-house delivery of its capital programme. This permanent role will head up a newly created team of 3 Project Managers and will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of key strategic engineering and architectural transport projects.
Based in the Major Projects Directorate as a Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable for managing and coaching a small team, whilst handling your own projects including budgets and programmes associated with the delivery of a variety of engineering projects from inception through to physical site works and close out.
We are looking for someone who holds a qualification in an appropriate engineering, surveying or project management discipline, has previous project and team management or supervisory experience, strong contract and programme awareness combined with determination, motivation and pride in the standard of work delivered. You will have experience of sharing good practice and be willing to help develop others in the team as and when required.
Experience of delivering projects within a railway environment and experience of following a stage gate process is desirable but not essential. A good working knowledge of project planning software is also desirable.
