Catering Assistants (Part Time)
Required as soon as possible. We have a fantastic opportunity for professional and enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our Catering Services team in producing high quality food for our pupils and staff in our busy school.
The Catering Assistants will provide a high quality, professional and responsive catering service to the Junior and Senior Schools and staff, reporting to the Head of Catering Services.
Service is cafeteria style and offers a wide choice including soup, a choice of hot and cold main courses and puddings, a vegetarian dish, open sandwiches, and salad meals. The team prepare around 1,500 meals each day as well as preparing several formal dinners over the academic year for between 30 and 120 guests.
Very little frozen food is used and the team, working together, takes great pride in producing interesting and healthy food whilst catering for a wide variety of dietary requirements.
The Catering Assistants will join a multi-disciplined catering team consisting of the Head of Catering Services, 1 Head Chef, 3 Assistant Chefs and a team of Catering Assistants.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high quality, professional and responsive catering service to the Junior and Senior Schools and staff, reporting to the Head of Catering Services.
- Work in a cafeteria-style service with a wide menu including soup, hot and cold main courses, puddings, vegetarian options, open sandwiches and salads.
- Assist in preparing around 1,500 meals per day and several formal dinners for 30 to 120 guests during the academic year.
- Help produce interesting and healthy food while catering for a wide variety of dietary requirements with minimal use of frozen food.
- Join a team consisting of the Head of Catering Services, a Head Chef, three Assistant Chefs and other Catering Assistants.
- Work normal hours of 11.30amβ3.00pm, Monday to Friday (17.5 hours per week during term time).
- Be available to work at school events including evenings and weekends when required.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Professional and enthusiastic approach to catering and teamwork.
- Willingness to contribute to catering for a wide variety of dietary requirements.
- Ability to work in a busy school environment and adapt to event-based catering when required.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is in the region of 23k gross per annum (Full Time Equivalent). As this role is part time (17.5 hours) and term time only, the actual salary is approximately 10k gross per annum. Excellent benefits are available β please refer to the job information pack for full details.
