Role: Marketing Campaigns Lead - Maternity cover

Based: Durham or Newcastle plus hybrid working

Department: Marketing

Contract: Fixed term (maternity cover)

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Salary: Circa. £34,000

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional with a strong understanding of CRM, email marketing and audience engagement, alongside a flair for delivering effective campaigns and customer communications. In the Chamber you’ll have an interesting role supporting the delivery of targeted marketing campaigns across a wide range of Chamber priorities, events and services. You’ll help ensure members and wider stakeholders receive timely, relevant and engaging communications, using audience segmentation and customer journey activity to enhance the overall member experience. Our campaigns and communications are a particularly important part of how we engage with businesses and members across the region, and you’ll work closely with teams right across the organisation, particularly the events, membership and policy teams, helping deliver impactful campaigns and content that support the Chamber’s objectives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of targeted marketing campaigns across Chamber events, services, policy activity and member engagement initiatives.
  • Working with teams across the organisation to coordinate marketing activity, campaigns and communications priorities.
  • Creating engaging campaign content and marketing assets across email, social media, website and digital channels.
  • Managing and maintaining CRM data, audience segmentation and email marketing activity to deliver timely, relevant communications, compliant with UK GDPR and best practice.
  • Supporting customer journey and lifecycle communications, including onboarding, engagement, retention and lead generation activity.
  • Managing the Chamber’s email schedule and coordinating content to ensure clear, effective and well-timed communications.
  • Supporting day-to-day website content updates, including campaign, news and event-related content.
  • Supporting LinkedIn paid advertising activity, including campaign set-up, monitoring and reporting where required.
  • Monitoring campaign and email performance, testing new approaches and identifying opportunities to improve engagement and audience experience.
  • Gathering feedback and insights to help strengthen communications, member engagement and overall campaign effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • A degree or qualification in marketing, communications or business would be beneficial, but equivalent experience will also be considered.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering marketing campaigns across email, web and social media.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing, CRM systems, audience segmentation and marketing automation.
  • Experience managing marketing data, lists and subscriptions.
  • Good understanding of customer journeys and lifecycle marketing.
  • Experience using website content management systems.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Campaign Manager or other paid social platforms would be beneficial.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good project co-ordination skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical approach, with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Confident working with internal and external stakeholders, including managing expectations across different teams and levels of seniority.

Other requirements

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work flexibly across Chamber locations and attend events across the region when needed.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport would be beneficial.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting the North East business community.
