We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Teacher of English who has the passion, knowledge and drive to engage our students and enable them to achieve their very best.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated and supportive team and will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. You will inspire students to develop their confidence and skills in reading, writing and communication, while fostering curiosity, creativity and a genuine enjoyment of English.

We are looking for a creative, adaptable and reflective practitioner who:

  • has high expectations for all students and is committed to securing excellent progress and outcomes;
  • demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English;
  • delivers engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners;
  • uses evidence-informed approaches to continually develop their teaching practice;
  • builds positive relationships and creates a classroom environment in which students are motivated to learn and succeed;
  • is committed to their own professional development and to contributing to the development of others; and
  • will make a positive contribution to the high standards, values and wider life of Hurworth School.
