Education Welfare Officer in Sunderland

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: Grade 6, SCP 23-25, FTE salary £34,434.00 - £36,363.00, (pro rata salary £30,422.00 - £32,127.00). Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.

Working Type: Full Time, 37 hours, 39 working weeks, 45.942 paid weeks.

Base: Hetton Academy, North Road, Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton-le-Spring DH5 9JZ.

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust - Hetton Academy is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Education Welfare Officer who truly wants to enhance the life chances of the children and young people under our care. The successful candidate will support children whose education is at risk. You will identify those children in need of support by reason of their behaviour, absence from academy, family dysfunction, disability, social or emotional needs.

The Academy has undergone rapid and continuous improvement since joining NET in 2022 and we have celebrated KS4 results that are well above the national average as well as being amongst the top performing schools in the North East.
