Skills Project Manager

We are looking for a dynamic, driven and collaborative Skills Project Manager to join our Skills Programme and Delivery Team on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering projects that support adult skills programmes across the North East.

Working as part of a growing and ambitious team, you will help deliver priorities linked to the New Deal for North East Workers, supporting residents to access skills, training and opportunities that contribute to a stronger regional economy.

As a Skills Project Manager, you will lead, coordinate and support a range of strategic projects, ensuring they are delivered successfully against agreed objectives, timescales, budgets, quality standards and performance measures. You will work with a wide range of partners, training providers, local authorities and internal stakeholders to ensure projects achieve meaningful outcomes for residents and employers across the region.

What you'll be doing

• You’ll lead the delivery of skills projects that help people across the North East develop new skills and access opportunities.
• Working with providers, local authorities and partners, you’ll manage projects from planning through to delivery, oversee performance and reporting, coordinate stakeholder groups, and ensure programmes achieve their objectives on time and within budget.
• You’ll also help translate policy into practical initiatives that deliver real benefits for residents and employers.

About you

• You’ll be an experienced project manager with strong stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
• Ideally, you’ll have experience within the skills, education or public sector, together with an understanding of performance monitoring and programme delivery.
• You will be proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
