Shape the future of Stockton-on-Tees. Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for the opportunity to deliver projects that make a real difference to communities? Do you want to work on a varied portfolio of highway, infrastructure and regeneration schemes, have ownership of your projects and help shape how services are delivered? We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Design Services Team and play a key role in delivering an ambitious programme of capital projects across Stockton-on-Tees.

What you'll be doing: Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will:

  • Deliver a significant programme of civil engineering and highway design projects.
  • Manage projects, budgets and resources from inception through to completion.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical advice and support across a range of services.
  • Support the management of the Council's highway structures.
  • Work closely with developers, contractors, consultants and partner organisations.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Contribute to service improvements and the development of future engineering solutions.

About you: You will have:

  • A degree or recognised professional qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering complex highway or infrastructure schemes.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and related engineering software.
  • Knowledge of construction-related legislation and standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
