North East Wellbeing is looking for a warm, resilient and experienced person to join our Zones of Influence Transitions project at High Tunstall College of Science in Hartlepool.
You will work one to one with children aged roughly 10 to 14 who are finding school hard - often because of social, emotional and mental health needs that show up as challenging behaviour or poor attendance. You will build trusted relationships, create a personalised plan with each young person and their family, and connect them to support and opportunities in school and in their community.
There is no set programme to deliver. Support is led by the child: you fit round them, not theother way round. You will be supported by a Project Manager and trained in our Zones of Influence approach.
You will need relevant experience with children and young people - in education, youth work, social work, mentoring, counselling or similar - and a sound grasp of safeguarding. A degree is welcome, but so is demonstrable life and work experience.
This role suits someone who values flexibility - for example, someone working on a supply or sessional basis, or an experienced practitioner looking for a different way of working. Employment status is open to discussion.
We are committed to promoting equal opportunities.
