The predicted salary is between 35542 - 35542 £ per year.

Grade G - SCP 28-30

Actual Salary: £34,126 - £35,542 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 working weeks per year (term time only plus PD days)

This is a permanent position subject to satisfactory completion of a 6-month probationary period, and the successful candidate will be required to start in October 2026 or as soon as possible after.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our passionate and hardworking team, supporting families to access the services they need.

We are looking to appoint 2 fully qualified social workers to work across 2 schools within Steel River Academy Trust. The post holders will provide a comprehensive social work service to children and young people and their families to ensure that all children in Steel River Academy Trust achieve their optimum health and development potential and are school ready.

The post holder will deliver targeted, evidence-based interventions to children and work directly on the edge of the statutory threshold to manage high levels of complexity, owning complex cases from start to finish. The successful candidate will become a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead across 2 schools.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years' postgraduate experience working with families with young children (0-11 years)
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Replicate the clinical and therapeutic framework for CIN under a non-statutory plan
  • Hold a Bachelor or Master of Social Work (BSW/MSW), or equivalent qualification
  • Have the skills and confidence to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of different families
  • Be an excellent practitioner with a successful record of high levels of success in supporting vulnerable families
  • Have excellent organisational skills, attendance and punctuality
  • Show commitment to the overall ethos of the Trust
