Do you have a passion for supporting young people to make informed choices, stay safe and access the support they need?
Durham City Youth Project is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Youth Sexual Health & Relationships Lead to coordinate and deliver our Sexual Health and Relationships Service across County Durham.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established service that provides young people with access to sexual health information, advice and support through outreach sessions, workshops, C-Card provision, chlamydia screening and health promotion activities.
The successful candidate will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the service, supervise sessional staff, develop partnerships and ensure the service continues to meet the needs of young people across the county.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in youth work, nursing, public health, education, social care, community development or other related fields.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering outreach sexual health sessions across County Durham.
- Providing sexual health information, advice and guidance to young people.
- Delivering C-Card assessments and promoting chlamydia screening.
- Delivering workshops and educational sessions on relationships and sexual health.
- Supervising and supporting sessional staff.
- Monitoring service outcomes and preparing reports for managers, trustees and commissioners.
- Attending partnership meetings and representing the service.
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and supporting young people to access specialist services where required.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has:
- Experience of working directly with young people.
- Knowledge of sexual health, healthy relationships and issues affecting young people.
- Experience of delivering education, health promotion or support services.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience of partnership working.
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Comfortable driving larger vehicles including minibuses and vans.
