Durham County Council have an exciting opportunity for the role of a permanent Painter working within Corporate Property and Land, Strategic Facilities Management, Repairs and Maintenance Team.
Join Durham County Council’s Strategic Facilities Management Team as a Painter and Decorator, helping to maintain and improve a wide range of council buildings and facilities across the county. You’ll carry out high-quality painting and decorating work as part of our busy repairs and maintenance service, working alongside the Roofing, Painting and Flooring Manager and Painting and Flooring Foreman. You may also have the opportunity to work on major Durham County Council construction projects, putting your skills to use on exciting and varied projects that make a real difference to our communities.
WHAT WILL I NEED
You’ll have a proven track record in painting and decorating and be confident working in busy repair and maintenance environments. Experience of working on maintenance and/or contractual projects within industrial or commercial buildings would be desirable.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Deliver a high-quality finish, with excellent attention to detail
- Communicate confidently and professionally with customers and stakeholders
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Take pride in their work and consistently deliver a high standard of service
- Adapt to a variety of buildings, projects and working environments
You must be educated to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2, or have equivalent trade experience of at least two years post-qualification. Please refer to the attached Person Specification for the full criteria and further details about the role.
If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure. If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre-employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.
