Help us create exceptional candidate experiences

We're looking for a Talent Engagement Coordinator to join our People and Culture team and play a key role in attracting and welcoming the talented people who will help shape the future of the North East.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused professional who thrives on managing multiple priorities, building positive relationships and delivering a seamless recruitment experience. You'll coordinate recruitment campaigns from vacancy approval through to onboarding, acting as a central point of contact for candidates, managers and external partners while ensuring every stage of the process runs smoothly and efficiently.

The Role

As Talent Engagement Coordinator, you'll provide comprehensive coordination and administrative support across recruitment and onboarding activities, helping to ensure candidates receive a professional, positive and inclusive experience throughout their journey.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment campaigns from vacancy approval through to appointment.

  • Prepare recruitment documentation, candidate communications and interview materials.

  • Support pre-employment checks, offers and onboarding activity to ensure new colleagues are ready to join the Authority.

  • Maintain accurate recruitment systems, trackers and management information.

  • Produce recruitment reports and support service improvement activity.

  • Build strong working relationships with candidates, managers and colleagues across the organisation.

About You

You’ll be a proactive and dependable coordinator with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in recruitment, talent and people practices.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in an administrative, coordination or customer-focused role.

  • Experience managing competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and digital systems.

  • The ability to work independently, use initiative and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

  • Experience within recruitment, onboarding, HR or People & Culture environments would be advantageous, as would knowledge of recruitment processes and candidate attraction activities.

What it Isn't

This isn't a role focused solely on administration behind the scenes. You'll be at the heart of the recruitment process, working directly with candidates, supporting managers, coordinating multiple campaigns and helping to continuously improve how we attract and onboard talented people.

So, if you...

...are passionate about delivering excellent customer service, enjoy organising and coordinating complex activities, and want to help create outstanding candidate and colleague experiences, we'd love to hear from you. If you're looking for an opportunity to develop your career in recruitment and talent while making a real contribution to the future of the North East, this could be the role for you.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We support flexible working and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
