We're on the lookout for a Section Supervisor to join our Overhead Line Team. This isn't just a job—it is a mission to keep the Metro moving and the network safe, sound, and ready for the next journey.

In this safety‑critical role, you will deputise for the Assistant Engineering Manager as required and will lead upon the supervisory aspects of the coordination and allocation of the department asset management portfolio of planned renewal works, inspection, maintenance, and repair across Nexus Infrastructure.

Typical Day

  • Leading a high performing team on dayshift and nightshift to deliver our Overhead Line renewals across Metro Infrastructure
  • Allocate work in line with planned renewals and emerging risks and priorities
  • Be ready for the reactive elements and challenges of Overhead Line in the event of disruption to meet customer needs
  • Enjoy the freedom of working independently including agile working (with plenty of support when you need it).
  • Be ready for call‑outs and emergencies—because you're the hero behind the scenes.

About You

  • You know your way around engineering or maintenance and can keep things safe and efficient.
  • You're a self‑starter who thrives when working solo but loves being part of a team too.
  • You possess team leadership experience in an Overhead Line engineering background.

  • This is a Sunday to Saturday job when working night shift and Monday to Friday when working dayshift.
  • You'll work a 36-hour week
  • Your basic salary will be circa £47k with generous allowances paid all year round
