Job Purpose:
- To provide a comprehensive HR consultancy service to schools and organisations in line with agreed service level agreements.
- To carry out independent investigations on behalf of clients in line with legislative and policy requirements.
- To deliver and contribute to the design of training on all aspects of HR as required, including training, advice and guidance in safer recruitment and the management of allegations.
- To contribute to development work and with the preparation of training and strategic documents.
- To develop and review policies for use by CES and our clients to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide high quality, efficient and customer focussed HR advice and services to both CES and external clients in relation to all aspects of HR and people management, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and client policies.
- To carry out full, thorough and independent investigations as investigating officer, into disciplinary, grievance, whistleblowing, complaints and other matters on behalf of clients in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.
- To produce high quality reports and documentation as required on behalf of the client.
- To attend meetings, hearings and proceedings to present findings and answer questions in relation to investigations as required on behalf of the client.
- To deliver training to a wide range of audiences in relation to all aspects of HR and safer recruitment practice.
- To undertake HR project work as required.
- To ensure that policies and procedures are fit for purpose, accurate, professionally presented and compliant with legislative requirements and best practice.
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, stakeholders and trade unions and to support and participate in formal negotiations with trade union officers where required.
- To ensure the business support team are kept abreast of work undertaken for service users in order to ensure accurate and prompt billing.
- To deliver professional HR advice and guidance to Clennell Education Solutions (CES), advising on the application and implementation of HR policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
- To have a commitment to, and understanding of CES policies and procedures including health and safety, security and data protection.
- To promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young persons the postholder is responsible for, or comes into contact with.
- To promote and implement policies and practices that encourage mutual tolerance and respect for diversity in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
Clennell Education Solutions (CES) delivers expert support and training across safeguarding, behaviour, SEND, HR and mental health. Since our establishment in September 2014, we have worked as a trusted “critical friend,” helping educational settings and, with the development of our Corporate and Community branch, a wide range of businesses to meet their statutory requirements and to promote best practice in service delivery.
At the heart of CES is a highly experienced and dedicated team committed to excellence, and with increasing demands for our HR services, we are aiming to increase our team in this area.
This varied role will include the provision of advice and guidance in relation to all aspects of human resource/people management, acting as an independent investigator carrying out investigations on behalf of our education and business clients and reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures. Working alongside our experienced HR lead, you will also be supported to deliver training in relation to both HR and safer recruitment practice.
We are seeking applications from those seeking full or part-time employment, but also from self-employed HR consultants wishing to be considered to join us as an HR associate, commissioned to complete work on an ad hoc basis.
If you are CIPD qualified, have a proven track record of successful experience working in an HR generalist role, a strong working knowledge of employment law, experience of and the ability to deal with complex, sensitive and challenging casework and queries calmly and professionally, combined with the interpersonal skills and confidence to deliver high-quality training, we want to hear from you.
An ability to drive and use own car for work (travel expenses paid) is essential.
