Information Request Officer

Information Request Officer

Full-Time On-site
N

Are you organised, confident working with information and able to manage competing deadlines? Do you have an eye for detail and enjoy working with colleagues to find solutions?

We are looking for an Information Request Officer to join our Information Governance team and support the Council in meeting its statutory responsibilities for responding to information requests.

This is a varied role where you will help to coordinate, manage and respond to requests for information, including those made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and data protection legislation including Subject Access Request (SAR).

You will work with colleagues across the Council to gather information, provide advice and help ensure responses are accurate, consistent and provided within statutory timescales.

As a key point of contact for information requests, you will need to be well organised, able to communicate confidently with a range of people and comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines. A working knowledge of FOI legislation, including the application of exemptions and exceptions, would be beneficial.

Previous experience of processing information requests would also be advantageous, but it is not essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop or build upon a career in Information Governance, working as part of an experienced team in an area that supports transparency, accountability and good governance across the Council.

If you would like to talk through this opportunity further, please contact Stephanie Huggins at Stephanie_Huggins@middlesbrough.gov.uk.

Please note Middlesbrough Council do not currently offer sponsorships.

We operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants that can show they meet all the essential criteria and have indicated they have a disability, are a looked after young person, care leaver or a veteran.
