The Northern School of Art is seeking to appoint an experienced and proactive HE Quality Assurance Manager at an exciting stage in the institution's development. This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of academic quality, standards and governance at a specialist arts institution with Degree Awarding Powers and ambitions to secure University Title. The successful candidate will support the continued enhancement of the School's quality assurance framework and help ensure readiness for future regulatory review activity as the School progresses from time-limited to indefinite Degree Awarding Powers.

The post holder will provide leadership for the continued development and delivery of the School's higher education quality assurance framework and play a central role in ensuring compliance with Office for Students (OfS) requirements, Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) expectations, and institutional policies. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will oversee key quality assurance activities including validation and periodic review, annual monitoring, external examining, student feedback processes, quality enhancement initiatives, and the monitoring and analysis of student outcomes.

As HE Quality Assurance Manager, you will provide leadership of the HE Quality Assurance function, including line management of the HE Quality Assurance Officer, convening the Learning, Teaching and Quality Committee, and supporting the School's academic governance framework. You will coordinate Academic Board sub-committee business, lead the preparation and delivery of reports and papers to committees and senior managers, and provide advice on academic quality, governance and regulatory matters to support institutional decision-making and continuous improvement.

The role will contribute to the School's strategic priorities by monitoring and evaluating Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) performance, Access and Participation Plan (APP) objectives, student outcomes, and other regulatory indicators. Using institutional data and sector benchmarks, you will provide analysis and insight to support enhancement planning, regulatory reporting and strategic decision-making.

We are seeking an individual with substantial experience in higher education quality assurance, governance, regulation, enhancement, or related professional services activity. You will possess strong organisational and analytical skills, be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, and be motivated by the opportunity to contribute directly to the School's journey towards indefinite Degree Awarding Powers and University Title.
