We are a safeguarding school. Children at Birtley East are taught how to keep themselves safe, including identifying harmful behaviour and how to seek help when they feel unsafe. All staff at our school are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
The Headteacher and governors wish to appoint one suitably qualified and motivated Family Support Worker to join our inclusive and forward looking school.
You will
- have an ability to demonstrate excellent and inclusive practice in line with our child centred ethos which promotes good progress and improves all children’s wellbeing and achievement,
- be able to demonstrate understanding of the needs of families from across all backgrounds and including families who have one or more children with additional needs
- have evidence to show an understanding of primary education,
- be able to show how they have contributed positively within a school or social care/family support setting,
- have a desire to work closely with a range of skilled professionals and with children’s families to achieve the best outcomes for them,
- be a committed team member,
- be committed to professional development,

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
