Are you an experienced licensing professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior Licensing Officer to help lead the delivery of Northumberland County Council's licensing service.

Working within the Public Protection Licensing Team, you will supervise Licensing Officers and Licensing Assistants, ensuring the effective delivery of statutory licensing functions across the county. You will manage a varied workload which may include licensing applications, investigations, enforcement activity, committee work, partnership working with agencies such as Police and HMRC, and supporting the development of service improvements.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong licensing knowledge, supervisory experience, excellent communication skills and a passion for public protection.

What we are looking for:

  • Good standard of general education, including at least five GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience of interpreting, applying and enforcing licensing legislation and regulations.
  • Experience supervising staff and allocating work within a professional or technical service environment.
