The predicted salary is between 9.9 - 12.1 Β£ per hour.

As a Community Assistant, you'll help create a welcoming, user-focused environment at our Community Hubs in Cramlington and Newbiggin.

Your daily tasks may include:

  • Serving food and drinks in our cafe and bar
  • Basic food preparation and making coffees on our barista machine
  • Assisting with bookings and maintaining a friendly environment for all hub users
  • Carrying out light cleaning and safety tasks to keep the hub in great shape
  • Supporting the setup of rooms for events and assisting with community sessions
  • Opening and closing the Hub as required
  • Providing basic digital and device support to visitors

We run a range of events on evenings and weekends across our Hubs. These shifts may involve:

  • Room setups
  • Serving in the cafe and bar
  • General hub duties
  • Opening and closing the Hub
  • Supporting our Cafe Managers and Hub Coordinators

We need people who are community-oriented, approachable, and ready to lend a hand wherever needed.

A good general education, numeracy, and literacy skills are required.

Awareness of health and safety practices is essential.

Basic food hygiene knowledge or certification (desirable but not essential).

Bar and hospitality experience, including handling food and drinks (desirable but not essential).

Working pattern is to be discussed at interview; please note there are 2 x 15 hour roles.

  • 1 x role based at Cramlington Community Hub, NE23 6YB
  • 1 x role based at Newbiggin Sports and Community Hub, NE64 6HG
