Permanent Contract – Part Time - 32 Hours per week (6am – 9.15am 3pm – 5.45pm) Mon-Fri. Required to start 20th October 2026. The Governors of Leadgate Primary School are seeking to appoint a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our dedicated team. This vacancy has arisen following the retirement of our highly valued and respected caretaker. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a welcoming and inclusive school community.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and who will ensure that our school remains a safe, secure and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day care of the school premises and grounds, including security, health and safety, routine maintenance, cleaning supervision and contractor liaison. They will work closely with school leaders and staff to ensure that the school environment supports the best possible outcomes for our children.

The current working pattern is: Monday to Friday 6.00am – 9.15am 3.00pm – 5.45pm Plus an additional 2 hours across the week to support site maintenance tasks. Annual leave to be taken in school closure periods.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
