We are looking for an exceptional ESOL Lecturer who is passionate about supporting learners to achieve their full potential. This is more than teaching English, it is about creating opportunities, building confidence and making a lasting difference.
You will join a dedicated team of experienced lecturers delivering high-quality ESOL provision across three Northumberland sites. Our learners consistently achieve outcomes above national benchmarks because we put them at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and ambitious ESOL lessons for learners from Pre-Entry through to Level 2, creating a positive learning environment where every learner can succeed.
We are looking for someone who can inspire learners, adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs and consistently deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
What you will do:
- Deliver engaging, learner-centred ESOL teaching from Pre-Entry to Level 2.
- Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom where learners thrive.
- Assess learners' starting points and develop personalised learning plans that support rapid progress.
- Plan imaginative lessons that motivate learners and develop English language skills for everyday life, employment and further study.
- Use high-quality assessment and feedback to help learners understand their progress and achieve their goals.
- Prepare learners for accredited qualifications and examinations.
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching, learning and the learner experience.
- Promote excellent attendance, positive behaviours and high aspirations for every learner.

- Is reflective, organised and committed to continuous professional development.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive and ambitious team.
- Is flexible and willing to teach across our Northumberland delivery locations.
Essential Requirements
- PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- CELTA or a recognised ESOL teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching ESOL learners across a range of levels.
- Experience of preparing learners for accredited qualifications.
- Excellent classroom management and learner engagement skills.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between delivery sites.
