You will play a pivotal role in shaping how we protect, use and share information across our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to champion a strong culture of data privacy and trust, ensuring we meet our obligations under UK GDPR and related legislation while enabling high-quality, efficient and transparent public services.

You’ll lead the development and delivery of our information governance framework, embedding best practice across all functions and ensuring our communities can have confidence in how their data is handled. As our subject matter expert, you will provide clear, practical guidance on a wide range of information governance matters from data protection, DPIAs and data sharing agreements, to Freedom of Information requests and ICO engagement.

You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to build their confidence and capability in these areas, delivering training and supporting colleagues to apply privacy principles in their day-to-day work. With oversight of audits, incident management and statutory records, you will help ensure compliance is not just achieved but sustained and continuously improved.

This role is as collaborative as it is strategic; you will work with senior leaders, external partners and governance boards to strengthen our approach to information governance, risk and quality management. Deputising for the SIRO and DPO when required, and acting as a key link to the ICO, you’ll bring credibility, insight and leadership to everything you do.

If you are passionate about data protection, thrive on influencing and improving practice, and want to make a real impact in a purpose-driven organisation, we would love to hear from you.

We are proud to be an inclusive employer, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We support flexible working and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

If you are a skilled and proactive information governance professional with strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to influence and embed best practice, we would love to hear from you.
