Key Details:

  • Contract: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Job Overview:

  • Provide training and support to ensure all learners achieve in a timely manner.
  • Effectively assess learners’ performance, knowledge and understanding against national occupational standards.
  • Make proactive contributions to quality assurance and improvement processes as required by awarding organisations and Ofsted.
  • Support the delivery and evaluation of training.
  • Manage a cohort of learners to achieve key performance targets in relation to retention, achievement and timely success rates.

Advert – Apprenticeship Support:

  • Provide support and assistance to the Assistant Director of People & Development to deliver effective apprentice training programmes.
  • Provide a comprehensive education package to enrolled staff on apprenticeship programmes in line with national and local legislation.
  • Assist staff undertaking apprenticeship training and develop apprenticeship programmes, liaising with other internal developments as required.
  • Update the Apprenticeship Lead on specific staff issues (e.g. DNA, competency issues) and ensure all relevant documentation is correctly completed.
  • Prepare and present employee data to monitor the Trust’s compliance and progress in meetings.
  • Assist in the development of apprenticeship support systems and procedures, maintaining good working relationships with staff and students alike.
  • Liaise with the Training Administration Team to provide and maintain effective administration/coordination between Training and other NEAS departments.
  • Submit requisitions to influence expenditure, maintaining a record of current apprenticeship training and staying aware of forthcoming legislative changes.
  • Operate in an advisory capacity to NEAS on apprenticeship programme needs.

Person Specification:

Education and Training – Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in an appropriate Health and Social Care / Ambulance Care subject or equivalent portfolio of experience within the relevant sector.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or relevant experience (e.g. DTTLS/PGCE/7318 or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent or working towards (A1/A2, D32/D33).
  • Must have vocational competence and knowledge in the areas in which training will be delivered.

Education and Training – Desirable Criteria:

  • CRT Trainer qualification.
  • Break away training qualification.

Key Skills and Knowledge – Essential Criteria:

  • Delivery of teaching, assessing – interpersonal skills to handle groups and 1:1 coaching.
  • Knowledge of learning and development requirements.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of IT applications, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Full driving licence.

Key Skills and Knowledge – Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of learning management systems, such as e-portfolio.

Experience – Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of both facilitating and delivery of learning and development programmes or projects.

Disposition / Personal Attributes – Essential Criteria:

  • Project planning, organisation, communication and presentation experience.
