We have an exciting role on offer within our Resident and Business Support service as a Welfare Support Officer.
About Us
Welfare Support is part of the wider Resident and Business Support Service and provides vital services to the Council in the support of residents, particularly those that find themselves in an emergency situation.
We are looking for a dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic person to join this small team which will encompass a wide variety of duties including providing emergency crisis support by telephone, processing applications for assistance with housing costs through the Discretionary Housing payment Scheme, verification of facts to ascertain entitlement and supporting on wider government initiatives and working out in the community to deliver advice and assistance to residents face to face.
The role will be challenging but also extremely rewarding, whilst being part of a busy and fast-moving environment. You will be required to deal professionally, promptly and efficiently with both internal and external queries through all customer channels covering all aspects of Revenues and Benefits services.
You will be able to communicate effectively and build excellent relationships with a strong focus on teamwork, be well organised and ideally have experience in dealing with difficult situations through to their resolution.
