Corporate Communications Manager (Maternity Cover)
Salary £46,142 to £49,282 per annum + benefits.
We are seeking to fill an upcoming temporary vacancy for the position of Corporate Communications Manager for a period of up to 12 months. The successful individual will be an integral part of the Corporate Communications Team, reporting to the Head of Data and Communications, and will provide leadership of communications activities to enable the service to meet its vision of "Creating the Safest Community" through the delivery of Service Strategy and the Community Risk Management Programme (CRMP).

Responsibilities
As the Media and Communications Manager, you will:
- Develop and lead the Service’s internal and external communications and engagement activities across the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
- Support the successful delivery of the Service’s Strategy and strategic goals by driving and managing a range of communications activities, contributing to strategic planning and evaluation, providing comprehensive, professional advice and support to the Service, and managing the Corporate Communications Team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Working in public relations, journalism, media or communications within a complex organisation.
- Managing and leading a communications team with responsibility for people and processes.
- Liaising with the media/press, with examples of successful outcomes.
- Managing a team workload, including competing demands and priorities.
- Developing and implementing internal and external strategic communications.
- Providing advice and guidance to senior management.
- Delivering multi‑faceted media training.
- Managing content management systems and websites.
