Contract Type: Fixed Term
Salary Range: Grade 4, SCP10 – SCP12 (£27,694.00 - £28,598.00 FTE) Pro rata salary £23,145.00 - £23,901.00. Salary amounts quoted are from 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part‑way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.
Working Type: Full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 3.30pm (39 working weeks, paid weeks 45.942)

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interventions: prepare and deliver targeted intervention programs to individuals and small groups, enabling them to achieve maximum access and participation in the National Curriculum.
- Student mentoring: interview students to discuss reasons for underperformance, assist in developing intervention materials, and keep detailed logs of student progress.
- Classroom support: work under the direction of the class teacher to assist in planning, monitoring, and evaluating learning objectives.
- Skill development: help students further develop their literacy, language, and reasoning skills, while assisting them with the organisation and preparation of set assignments.
- Direct student aid: aid learning by clarifying instructions, ensuring students can use equipment, motivating learners, and helping them concentrate to finish their work.
- Inclusion & support: support students with special needs to encourage acceptance and inclusion, develop methods to reinforce self‑esteem, and assist in creating Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
- Behaviour & environment: establish productive working relationships with students, act as a role model, and support the "expectations for learning" system to maintain high standards of behaviour.
- Collaboration & communication: liaise regularly with teachers, heads of department, and parents/carers regarding student progress, ILPs, and feedback.
- Technology: assist in maximising the use of ICT in the learning process under the direction of the teacher.
- Cover coverage: occasionally supervise whole classes during short‑term absences of teachers.
- Exam invigilation: assist with the invigilation of internal and external examinations and assessments as required.
