Post: Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: SCP10 – SCP12 (£26,835 – £27,711 FTE) (pro rata salary £22,427.17 – £23,159.28)

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment

Working Type: Full Time 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (45.942 paid weeks

Please note: the post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with a good track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 30 academies; 17 secondary and 13 primaries across the North of England in fourteen Local Authority regions.

Manor Academy are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant from 1st September 2025.

Main responsibilities include:

• Deliver intervention programs to individuals and small groups, preparing relevant and appropriate learning experiences in conjunction with the academy/department staff, enabling them to achieve maximum access and participation in the National Curriculum

•Discuss reasons for underperformance with students, through interview

•Assist in the development of suitable intervention material and keep a log on students who undertake intervention, providing assistance on the recording and reporting procedures

•To work under the direction of the class teacher and to assist in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the student’s learning ensuring that progress is clearly recorded and related to the learning objectives for that student

•Liaise regularly with the head of department and teachers, informing them of progress and providing relevant feedback.

•Help students to further develop literacy skills. To help students develop their language and reasoning skills and to assist students in the organisation, preparation and display of set assignment tasks

•To establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations

•Support the expectations for learning system to ensure high standards of student behaviour
