An opportunity has come up in Highways Services for a Storekeeper/Driver.

They will assist the Stores Supervisor in delivering a customer focussed Stores function for Neighbourhood Services, countywide.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

  • To assist the Stores Supervisor ensuring the stores function is an efficient and effective service.
  • Promote a “can do” culture with staff ensuring that they receive appropriate training to empower them and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • To assist in the stock management process to ensure that stock holdings are at appropriate levels ensuring continuity of work to Neighbourhood Services operations.
  • Ensure all equipment and shelving are maintained on a regular basis and works are recorded.
  • To provide a customer focussed service at the Tradesman counter.
  • To ensure Stores and the waste transfer facility are kept in a tidy hazard‑free state at all times.
  • Ensure deliveries are receipted, off‑loaded, checked and stored appropriately.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

  • NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in working in a stores environment.
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver results.
  • Ability to promote a positive culture.

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in‑house driving assessment as part of our pre‑employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.
