We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Public Health Intelligence Officer to work in our busy Public Health Team. This is a great opportunity for someone with good data and analytical skills wanting to develop their knowledge and experience whilst making a difference to the health and wellbeing of the people in South Tyneside. You will do this by providing accurate and timely data and information to support the overall delivery of public health programmes and commissioned services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Public Health Lead, the role will have a specific focus on the Substance Misuse and Domestic Abuse agenda.
  • You will also contribute to the wider public health intelligence programme for example through performance monitoring and developing Joint Strategic Needs and Assets Assessments.
  • As well as working with the Public Health team, you will forge relationships with both internal and external partners and providers to share and gather data and intelligence.
  • You will be required to contribute to the preparation and presentation of reports and briefings for Elected Members, Senior Management, programme boards and strategic partnerships.

Work Hours & Working Arrangement

The role will be offered as a flexible 37 hours per week, utilising hybrid working with a mixture of home and office. There will be a requirement to attend some face‑to‑face meetings.
