Classroom Teaching Assistant for KS3 or KS4

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team at Moorbridge Pupil Referral Unit.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students, who have additional needs in the areas of Social, Emotional and Mental health (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students into class and liaise closely with class teachers to plan and differentiate work.
  • Have a good understanding of how to support young people to regulate their emotions and develop a growth mindset.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, colleagues, and multi‑agency professionals.
  • Submit written reports, update monitoring systems, and contribute to SEN reviews.

The role requires excellent communication skills, resilience, resourcefulness, a good sense of humour, responsiveness to change and a willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the school.

Visits to the school are welcomed and expected.

All students have additional needs in the area of SEMH, and some may have secondary needs in communication, interaction, sensory, physical, or cognition and learning.

They may require 1:1 support to access learning opportunities effectively.
