Sedgefield Town Council is seeking a full-time Head Gardener & Cemetery Superintendent (37 hours per week).

Working Pattern:

  • 37 hours per week (Mondays to Thursdays 8 hours per day and Fridays 5 hours per day with some occasional weekend work)

Location:

Based at the Town Council’s compound, Butterwick Road Cemetery, Sedgefield.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cemeteries, gardening and open spaces team
  • Supervisory responsibilities over all cemetery matters (both open and closed cemeteries)
  • Open spaces work, planting and seasonal bedding maintenance
  • Work with and oversee contractors
  • Work with local volunteers
  • When necessary, snow clearing and winter maintenance

Salary and Pay:

This role is paid in accordance with NJC Local Government pay scales Grade 7 £30,024 - £33,699 (with pay awards agreed nationally).
